How Counselling Supports Our Clients – Including Those Facing Long-Term Unemployment At New Day Recovery Coachin
g, we know that counselling can make a real difference for people living with mental health challenges. For some of our clients, the added stress of long-term unemployment can bring feelings of isolation, low confidence, and uncertainty about the future.
Our counselling provides a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can share their experiences and feel heard. Together, we explore practical coping strategies—like stress management, mindfulness, and small achievable goals—that help rebuild resilience and confidence. For those who are out of work, we also focus on pathways forward.
This may include identifying strengths, reconnecting with community through volunteering or activities, and rediscovering purpose and motivation. We take a whole-person approach, looking beyond employment to overall wellbeing, relationships, and daily life. Our goal is to walk alongside clients with compassion and care, helping them feel supported, hopeful, and ready to take positive steps toward their future.
